428 Ruby St. - This was the the house I grew up in outside of Chicago. I decided to paint this since I am here working in Chicago part of this week. This painting is from one of the original photos we have of the house when it was built in 1924. When you scroll through the photos you will see how the house has changed over the years. My parents sold the home in 1988 and since that time it has really changed. It is one of the few homes still remaining in what has turned into a tear down and rebuild megamillion mansion suburban neighborhood. I only have a black-and-white photo of it in its original state but I wanted to capture the simpleness of it then.
